Preparing for Hurricane Sandy

We've been busy all weekend preparing for Hurricane Sandy. We live north of Philadelphia which is supposed to be hit pretty bad by the storm. Last year our house didn't get hit much if at all by Hurricane Irene, but we were quite miserable during the early season snowstorm where we lost power for almost two days. At that time, we just moved in to our first house and were not equipped to handle power outage in a house that relies on well water with a sump pump that runs quite often.

This year we are much more prepared. We just bought a generator about a month ago during a sales event at Sears. We got several extension cords from the local Ace store yesterday, got done with grocery shopping on Friday and finally got drinking water this morning (that was the first time I went to a grocery store at 6.15 am!).

It started raining last night but it just stopped earlier today. There is almost no wind since yesterday which feels really strange. I guess that's why they call it the "calm before the storm" :) Oliver and Eddie are busy playing as usual, they don't know what's coming ahead of them, but good thing that neither of them are afraid of thunder/lightning. It will be hard to get Eddie out to do his business in the constant rain later as he doesn't like to get wet, but Oliver won't have any problem since he really likes water :)

Hopefully it's not as bad as the prediction, but we shall see! We'll provide update (hopefully good news!) after the storm.
