Doodle Romp

It's been a long, hard winter here in IL. The weather is nice for a change this weekend, so we were excited to go to our first Doodle Romp in Northern IL!! This event is held at Lakewood Dog Park in Wauconda, about 15 minutes from where we live, and there was supposed to be many doodles come to this event.

We arrived at around 10.45 am and the parking lot was quite full. There were many dogs, all size and shape (not only doodles) running around in this park. Our golden doodle, Oliver was really excited to enter the park and we also had Eddie, the pug-tzu. The ground was all "dead" looking, a bunch of dead grasses from the long winter and nothing has sprouted out for spring. It was raining a couple of days ago, so the soil was a bit damp and with all the dogs running around, the ground nearby the entrance was quite a mud hole.

We could not see any real event going on, other than a bunch of people hung out together with their dogs, which were mix between doodles and other breeds. In fact, there was not a lot of doodles out there today, but Oliver and Eddie had fun anyway :) They got quite muddy by the time we were ready to go home about an hour later, so they both got a nice hot shower in the tub upstairs :)
